- Umesh graduated with BE Chemical Engineering from Shivaji University in 1991. After working for about eight years in the industry in India, Umesh joined the prestigious Master’s in applied chemical engineering programme at IFP (ENSPM) (1999-2000), Rueil Malmaison, France with specialization in petroleum refining.
- Umesh has a cumulative 30 years of experience as a process engineer with multinational engineering and consulting companies, in India, Germany, France, England and the middle east. His last major employment was with Bechtel Ltd’s London office. Umesh is accredited chartered engineer (CEng) from Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK.
- Umesh is the head of USP Energies and is responsible for all aspects of it's management and functioning.

About myself
Job Profile
In my position as a Director of the company, I am responsible for the overall financial performance and standing of the company, supervising the annual audits, balance sheet and other statutory compliances. I also look after the disbursement of salaries and liaison with the banks. As the head of USP Energies, the Energy Division of the company, I look after the day-to-day operations. This includes recruitment, acquisition of business and marketing efforts, coordination with international partners and legal matters. In my role as Chief Process Engineer, I and my team are capable of supporting all phases of project work including process design and engineering, process safety, detailed engineering support etc.
Diverse Activities
I have been called upon to function as a Lead Process Engineer on several projects. I have 30 years of experience in the upstream and downstream industry, specializing in hydroprocessing, hydrotreating, sulphur recovery TGT, catalytic reforming, isomerization, and other refining processes. This diverse experience profile includes process design and systems engineering, technical services, catalysts handling/loading, technology evaluation and providing start-up and commissioning assistance for process units. I am an experienced HAZOP and LOPA Chairman with several critical studies under the belt.
